Q. How do you respond to that statement about saving time and money? A. I like to point out that we’ve invested 73 years coming up with the answers. Wasted time is the result of the poor organization. Our comprehensive Learning Guides provide each student all the required information in a detailed lesson by lesson “blueprint” that guarantees that every step is directed toward their goal. Add dynamic instructors, who inspire as well as teach, simulators, software, quality aircraft and we get happy, successful pilots. Q. Why do you teach more pilots to pass their written than anyone? A. Two options, two values. For those who enjoy the camaraderie of other pilots we conduct “in-house” classes every month and for those who can’t invest a weekend, well, we’ve taught 40,000 of them “on-line”. At $75 our On-Line classes were already a great value, but for the summer we’re adding our “Oral Preparation Course” to make it even more so. Q. What do you mean when you say that your students “fly less and learn more?” A. Unfortunately, a lot of flight training is offered with good intentions in a rented airplane. How many airports have simulators and the software to make them powerful teaching tools? Our students learn three or four times as much from an hour in a simulator than an hour in a plane at only 40% of the cost. Combine the extraordinary effectiveness of our simulator software with the structure of our Learning Guides and you learn quicker at less cost. Q. Is there really a pilot shortage? A. There’s no doubt about it. The airlines aren’t keeping up with retirements. We’ve expanded our capacity to educate professional pilots by adding 737 training and a degree program in partnership with Nova Southeastern University. Our loan program for students has also been expanded. Q. What about the students who cannot travel to your school or who wish to continue with their local instructor? A. If it’s inconvenient to get to the airport, we’ll bring it to them. Our “On-Line” school gets more popular by the day – and night. We’ve received rave reviews from hundreds of independent instructors (as well as students enrolled with competitors) who are using our Learning Guides, course software and internet classes.

Q. Did the FAA just create a combined Private-Instrument Course? A. Yes. This should really expand the utility and flexibility of aircraft ownership as well as increase pilot safety. We’ve been lobbying for a long time to make this happen, in fact, we’ve been offering a combined Private and Instrument Program for twenty years. We call it the “VIP Course” (VFR-IFR Pilot).

Q. How do you estimate the completion time for a pilot in training? A. For pilots who wish our opinion as to what they would need to complete their goal, we offer a two hour “course” flying with one of our senior instructors, or an evaluation can be created over the phone with one of our pilots. The “finish up plan” that we create is very useful whether the student continues with his local instructor or us.
