SOCIAL MEDIA / In the field OH, THE PEOPL E we meet! On assignment in Ohio for an upcoming story there were fun people and experiences everywhere. And when you're in charge of an AOPA Sweepstakes airplane, it becomes an extension of yourself and the people who work on it become like members of the family. Senior Photographer David Tulis (@dtulis) tucked himself into the cockpit of a barnstorming 1929 Travel Air 4000 with the help of handler Cameron Ward. Passenger John Sexten took his first flight that day. On that same trip, Video Editor Michelle Walker enjoyed a ride on Jim Hammond's 1925 working carousel near the aviator's grass strip in Yellow Springs, Ohio (see " Pilots: Jim Hammond, " November 2023 AOPA Pilot). @sumwalk736 Social media marketer Cayla Hunt taxis the AOPA Sweepstakes 170B past the Delta Air Lines maintenance facility after a Veterans Day event at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Below left, Hunt poses for a selfie alongside young pilots and mechanics at Delta Air Lines headquarters. These are just a few of the young people who played a part in the restoration of the Cessna 170B. @caylamcleodhunt Copy AOPA PILOT / January 2024 107
