TRAVEL TIPS Corrosion protection Every sailor-and any seaplane pilot-knows that saltwater doesn't mix with metal surfaces. Remember these tips when you fly in salty climates: 1. Thoroughly wash and wax your airplane before and after flying to the islands. 2. Lubricate moving parts, and pay particular attention to places where dissimilar metals come in contact. 3. Treat your aircraft with anti-corrosion aviation products such as CorrosionX or ACF-50. A quick flight through some rainshowers doesn't hurt, either. www.aopa.org/pilot AOPA PILOT | 55http://www.aopa.org/pilot
