SPOTLIGHT
Div. 2 launches mentoring program Beginning this fall, Div. 2 (Society for the Teaching of Psychology) will match graduate students and early career professionals with more seasoned psychologists to work on projects together through its new Professional Development Mentoring Network. Projects may include developing new courses, learning new teaching technologies, or conducting and publishing scholarly work. For more information, contact program director Laura Lunsford,
PhD, at lglunsfo@email.arizona. edu or visit www.teachpsych.org. Divs. 3 and 6 combine convention programming To better serve members and avoid possible overlap, Divs. 3 (Experimental) and 6 (Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative) are collaborating on their programming for APA’s 2012 Annual Convention in Orlando, Aug. 2–5. The joint programming track will focus on “cuttingedge cells-to-society science.” Sessions will cover such topics
as addiction, applications of associative learning, decisionmaking, episodic memory, empathy, incentive contrast and learning, obesity, spatial learning and performance, and virtual environments. The divisions will also host a symposium in honor of Jeff Bitterman, PhD, a longtime member of both groups. For more information, contact Victoria Chamizo, PhD, at victoria.diez. chamizo@ub.edu or Nancy Dess, PhD, at dessnk@oxy.edu. Students: Share Div. 12 resources on your campus Div. 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology) welcomes graduate students from APA accredited doctoral programs to volunteer as campus representatives to share information with faculty and fellow students about the benefits of division membership, upcoming awards and funding opportunities, and committee openings. Div. 12 will host a meeting for campus representatives at APA’s 2012 Annual Convention in Orlando, Aug. 2–5. Division membership is required. To join, email the division at div12apa@comcast.net with “Campus Rep” in the subject line.
