Meet the Candidates

ach year during the House of Delegates meeting, elections are held for open positions on the APMA Board
of Trustees, including officer positions.
This year, there are three, three-year terms open for election,
with two incumbent candidates running for re-election and two
candidates running for election. The positions of president-elect,
vice president, and treasurer are also up for election.
The following candidates have declared their candidacy as
of press time:

a director on the Massachusetts Association of Health
Boards, the governing body for all health boards in the
commonwealth.

Candidate for Election to the
Board of Trustees

t is with great pride and excitement
that I announce my candidacy for
the APMA Board of Trustees.
These are exciting and unknown
times in the public health arena. Vast
changes are occurring, often without our input as providers-changes that will affect both the health of our patients
and our livelihoods. I would bring a unique set of experiences and skills to our governing body that will assist both
APMA and our members in becoming increasingly relevant
to the decision- makers in our government, while at the
same time working with leadership to improve and strengthen our association from within.
I have spent a large part of my professional career serving
in the public health sector, while also working as a solo practitioner. Public health has been a passion of mine, and I am
honored to have been recognized for my efforts and results
with appointments and elected positions, including:
state committee appointments by the governor of Massachusetts, including the Prevention and Wellness Commission, Community Health Needs Assessment Board,
and Governor's Task Force on Diabetes Control;
state and national leadership positions with the American Diabetes Association. I currently serve as president
of the Northeast Leadership Board and chair of the Advocacy Committee, and I have served on both the national Legislative and Advocacy Committees; and

Within our profession, I have been honored to serve as an
alternate or delegate to the APMA House of Delegates since
1992, and I am proud to be the current secretary/treasurer of
the Acey Deucy forum. I have held most leadership positions
for the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society, including the
presidency in 2000.
I would be honored to serve you, and I ask for your vote
