s you probably know, APMA is active on
social media, with significant followings
of approximately 40,000 on both
Facebook
(www.facebook.com/theapma)
and Twitter (https://twitter.com/apma), and
accounts on Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest,
and YouTube. Analytics suggest that our following on these channels, with the exception
of LinkedIn, is almost exclusively among
members of the public. These accounts are a

tremendous vehicle for public education and
have helped APMA to significantly streamline
costs associated with public relations campaigns while reaching members of the public
in a space in which they're extremely receptive to the information we provide.
But where can members access information and updates designed for them? Have
you followed our APMA Member Facebook
page? (Log into Facebook and search APMA
Member.) This page is devoted to our members and their professional needs. It includes
updates on our advocacy efforts, photos and
news from meetings APMA leadership has
attended, clinical topics, and more.
We want you to help us grow our following among members to make this page a
more effective channel for communicating
with members. Follow the page and share it
with your own followers. You can even invite
specific followers: On a desktop, click the
"..." (more) menu beneath the page's cover
image. Select "Invite Friends" and choose
followers to invite. On a mobile device, scroll
to the "Community" menu, and select "Invite
your friends to Like this Page."

BYLAWS CHANGES
AND SPEAK TO
YOUR DELEGATES

ou have a key opportunity to effect
change at APMA and drive more
participation by young physicians.
APMA's Bylaws and Procedures Committee has conducted a complete review
of the APMA Bylaws and proposed
changes that would place limitations
on terms of service, among other modifications. These changes would create
new opportunities for young physicians
to serve the profession and contribute
their ideas to the national organization.
The proposed bylaws changes
will be up for discussion at the 2018
House of Delegates meeting in March.
