will be the last hard-copy issue
published. The digital-only edition
will launch with the May/June issue.

YPTS SPOTLIGHT: PRACTICE YEARS 1-4
The Young Physician Transition Series (YPTS; www.apma.org/ypts) was created
to help young physicians navigate their way from the first year of residency
through establishing themselves in practice. This series takes a closer look at
the resources available for each year.

residency and have entered practice.
While your medical and surgical training is second to none, how comfortable are
you with everything happening outside of the
operating room?

MONEY MATTERS
After completing four years of undergraduate studies, four years of podiatric medical
school, and three years of residency, you are
a highly trained and capable physician and
surgeon. You should be compensated like
one, too.
The YPTS will help you maximize your
reimbursements by providing vital information about the MIPS program. Remember:
The actions you take this year will affect your
Medicare Part B reimbursements in 2021.

state-specific provisions that might affect
your ability to practice.

help you get started in your career: scopeof-practice and state licensing information;
private and public insurance guides; practice
promotion tools; and more.

PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
Some people are perfectly content doing their
job and letting others fight the battles that
make it possible to practice. Others like to be
at the forefront advocating for the profession.
Get information about becoming involved in
podiatic leadership on the local level, and
learn more about the tremendous variety of
podiatric associations you can join.
