hether you're nearing the end of residency or comfortably in practice, there's never a bad time to update your
CV. Making a point to update your CV throughout the
year can make the process more routine and a little less daunting, especially with the help of APMA's career and CV
resources-which are always available online. Visit APMA's
Young Physician Transition Series (YPTS; www.apma.org/ypts) to
learn more about the top five tips to keep in mind when drafting
your CV. For example, do you know what format is most favorable
when saving your CV to distribute electronically?
Drafting your CV from scratch and not sure how to start? Check
out APMA's draft CV template to learn how best to organize
items like your academic history, professional achievements,
and extracurricular activities. Visit APMA's online Career Center
(www.apma.org/careercenter) to make your updated CV accessible to DPMs looking to fill positions in their practices. While you
are there, search open positions from across the country.

t goes without saying that there are more than a few organizations within the podiatric profession-APMA being the
largest. For young physicians, it can be difficult to discern
who does what and how certifying boards come into play. For
example, did you know that no podiatric medical certifying
board requires membership in any specific organization in
order to complete the certification process?
Fortunately, APMA has put together a resource to help navigate all the membership organizations within podiatry, along
with a list of some of the most frequently asked questions.
