and So Much More
T
he APMA 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting (The National)
is the can't-miss conference for every podiatrist. Join
us July 29-August 1 in person in Denver or online and
earn up to 29.5 CECH from a broad educational program.

Though The National is first and foremost a premier
education event, the four-day conference is also a true celebration
of the larger podiatric community.
The National is excited to host the podiatric medical
assistants' educational program, offering sessions specifically
geared toward assistants' unique role in the office.
Assistants will attend breakfast symposia and plenary lectures
with their physicians. They will also have the opportunity
to take the American Society of Podiatric Medical
Assistants (ASPMA) certification exams and earn
their PMAC and/or PRAC credentials. Both the radiology
and clinical exams will be offered, along with review
courses. The assistants' program will only be offered in
Denver and will not be available through the virtual platform.

is $149. Assistants may register for either certification
exam using the in-person registration form found at

Explore new frontiers in podiatric medicine with Saturday's
Oral Abstracts track and Poster Abstracts Symposium.
Learn about the latest cutting-edge research from
more than 100 posters. Virtual attendees will experience
the Poster Abstracts Symposium through a roving reporter,
and all participants will have a chance to vote for the " Attendees'
Choice " winner.
APMA is offering several non-CECH learning opportunities,
including four lunches and a dinner on Thursday; two
lunches on Friday; and one lunch on Saturday. Please note
there will not be a boxed lunch served Thursday afternoon,
so you will definitely want to reserve your spot at one of our
four options when completing your registration. Additionally,
Innovation Café sessions will be held Friday and Saturday
mornings in the exhibit hall. The Friday schedule also
includes a Practice Management Lunch-and-Learn, and Saturday
features a Young Physicians' Lunch-and-Learn.
Those traveling to Denver will also have the opportunity to
attend the Podiatry Management Hall of Fame Luncheon. Because
last year's ceremony was canceled due to the COVID-19
public health crisis, this year's event will include three honorees:
Bryan Markinson, DPM; Jason Kraus; and Cindy Pezza.
Each individual has left an indelible mark on podiatric medicine
and surgery. You can reserve tickets when you complete
your online registration. Proceeds from the Hall of Fame Luncheon
benefit the APMA Educational Foundation Student
Scholarship Fund.
Whether attending in-person, virtually, or not at all, join
the Team APMA 5K Challenge! The virtual run is already
live, and you may sign up and complete your run now
through Monday, August 2. Pledge to do a 5K, 10K, or marathon
and upload your time to the event site. Learn more at

Educational Foundation Student Scholarship Fund.
In-person attendees will have the opportunity to network
during receptions. The Exhibit Hall Grand Opening on Thursday
afternoon will feature light fare and allow you to catch up
with our exhibitors and sponsors. This time also includes the
Young Physicians' reception, which will be held at the APMA
Career Center booth. On Friday, attend the reception honoring
Immediate-Past President Seth Rubenstein, DPM, and APMA
President Jeffrey DeSantis, DPM. The COVID-19 public health
crisis led to the cancellation of the past two APMA House of
Delegates in-person meetings, and we were not able to properly
celebrate our most recent presidents.

The National and COVID-19
As a leading medical association, APMA takes COVID-19
very seriously. Those attending the meeting in person will be
expected to adhere to a set of best practices in line with CDC
guidelines at the time of the meeting, which may mean masking,
social distancing, and promoting a contact-free meeting.
Attendees will be notified of the specific guidelines prior to
arriving in Denver. n
