Hospital Service Director-Podiatry: The
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is
seeking a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine to
serve as director of Podiatric Services. The
Podiatry Service at MGH is a section of the
Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Division in the
Department of Orthopaedics. This position
represents a unique opportunity for the right
individual to help build a highly resourced,
surgical and non-surgical Podiatry service at
one of the world's leading academic healthcare
institutions. Since 1811, Massachusetts
General Hospital has been committed to delivering
standard-setting medical care through
clinical excellence, pioneering research, and
world-class education. The successful candidate
will work closely with the chief of Foot
and Ankle Orthopaedics to continue building
a world class Podiatric service as part of
our Foot and Ankle Center of Excellence. As
a member of our renowned Foot and Ankle
Center team, the successful candidate will be
responsible for leading all aspects of the Podiatry
Service. This includes general oversight
of the service's clinical operations, teaching,
research, finances, personnel, quality and
safety, and program development. The service
director, in collaboration with the division
chief of Foot and Ankle, will be responsible
for strategic planning for the service. The service
director will be responsible for serving as
a role model and mentor for faculty and scientists
on the service. He or she will represent
the service in department leadership meetings
as well as MGH/MGPO/MGB activities at the
request of the division chief of Foot and Ankle
and/or the chief of Orthopaedic Surgery. The
successful candidate will have:
* A minimum of 10 years practicing podiatric
medicine and surgery in an academic
medical center.
* A minimum of five years in a leadership
position within a podiatry department.
* Demonstrated ability to navigate and be
successful in a complex clinical enterprise.
* Published at least three research articles as
first author in peer-reviewed journals.
* Demonstrated experience lecturing on podiatric
topics at regional and/or national
conferences.
* Demonstrated experience and expertise in
the evaluation and treatment of a wide variety
of foot and ankle pathologies.
* Board certification in podiatric surgery is
required.
* Familiarity with Orthobiologics and advanced
technology, including ultrasound,
shockwave, and Tekscan preferred.
