that tackle issues related to podiatry. Through
this service, I have helped form or strengthen
relationships for APMA with these groups, including
the Alliance for Woundcare Stakeholders,
CLI Global, the Amputation Prevention Alliance,
and more. Every one of these groups focuses on
issues that are part of our practice lives and the
lives of our patients. I see my presence in the
room as a huge step toward achieving the main
goal that, when policies are made, our care is a
" top tier " part of the decision making.
Representing APMA has facilitated another goal
of mine: building bridges between APMA and other
societies. We are stronger when we are with partners
that support our work and our existence! Over
the past few years, I have initiated and nurtured
relationships with the Society of Interventional

to the Board of Trustees
As I seek reelection to the APMA
Board of Trustees, it is with gratitude
that I reflect on the last two
years. I am thankful to be able to
serve with an exceptional group of colleagues and
the dedicated staff at APMA.
My term on the Board of Trustees began with
strategic planning in June 2022. It was a privilege
to contribute to redefining our organization's
vision, mission, and goals. These values remain
guiding principles as we navigate the future.
Over the past two years, I have actively
participated in various committees, including
but not limited to, Communications, DEI, and
Physician Parity. I have served as the liaison
to the American Board of Podiatric Medicine,
the American College of Podiatric Medicine,
and multiple states in Regions Eight and Ten.
Additionally, I have helped coordinate Board
Minutes videos and have been a behind-thescenes
advocate for affiliates.
Beyond my official duties, I remain committed
to fostering student recruitment in my community.
I regularly lecture to pre-health students at UNC
Chapel Hill and have hosted five large suture workshops
at the university to raise awareness of podiatric
medicine and surgery. I continue to be part of
the DPM Mentor Network and have frequently had
students shadow in our office.
Prior to my tenure on the board, I served my
state with the North Carolina Foot and Ankle
Society, including as president in 2018. I also

Radiology, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and
others-relationships that are now flourishing in the
arenas of shared education, advocacy, and legislative
activity-as well as mutual referrals.
There is so much more to do! So, what lies
ahead for me as one of your trustees? Continuing
the vital committee work. Continuing to represent
you in the medical community. Continuing to
meet and converse with you in your own states
and at your meetings. And doing what I can to let
the world know that podiatry is here, and to let our
members know that APMA is here for you.
I thank you for your support and the opportunity
to serve you in the past, and I ask you now for your
support and vote to allow me to continue to do so.

Additionally, I contributed to the APMA
Communications Committee for many years,
serving as chair for four years and as a liaison
to multiple APMA working groups, including
Membership, Social Media, and Rebranding. I
held the positions of chief delegate, delegate,
and alternate from North Carolina in the House
of Delegates for 10 years and served as vice
chair of the Resolutions/Policy Committee.
I consistently and publicly promote our
profession and organization.
If re-elected, I pledge to continue to serve in any
way I can. I will always prioritize listening to and
addressing the needs and concerns of our delegations.
I am committed to pursuing our common
goals, including:
* Attracting a high number of qualified candidates
to our schools
* Enacting legislation that advances our profession's
success
* Providing valuable educational opportunities for
our members
* Advocating for parity in all aspects of medicine,
including reimbursement
* Maximizing the benefits of membership
Thank you for your continued encouragement,
support, and trust in my leadership. I humbly seek
your support in this election and remain committed
to working diligently, drawing upon my
experiences while adapting to the evolving needs
of our organization.
