As we step into 2025, APMA is focused on advancing the profession
and advocating for podiatric physicians and their patients. In
this issue, we introduce our 2025-26 president, Brooke Bisbee,
DPM, who shares her vision for the future of podiatric medicine
and the association's role in shaping it.
With the Board of Trustees election on the horizon in March,
we encourage you to check out the candidate statements on
page 12 and share your input with your state's delegation.
Advocacy remains at the heart of APMA's mission. The Federal
Advocacy Forum and Advocacy in Action columns outline our
ambitious legislative agenda for 2025, highlighting the work of
the Legislative Committee and APMAPAC in shaping policies that
protect and advance the profession. The PAC Champions article
celebrates new and departing members of the APMAPAC Board
of Directors, recognizing their contributions to advocacy efforts.
We also bring you highlights from the recent CAC-PIAC meeting,
where podiatric leaders from across the country discussed
critical issues and shared strategies to strengthen the profession.
In Coverage Corner, we examine the role of AI in medical documentation
and how it is transforming health care. Coding Update
provides insights on Medically Unlikely Edits, offering guidance on
CMS coding policies and how they impact reimbursement.
Additionally, we provide a CPME update, summarizing key
actions and notices from the council's latest meeting.
Finally, we share the results of APMA's latest diabetes campaign,
highlighting the association's efforts to educate patients
and the public about the importance of diabetic foot care.

practice and the profession.
