Continuous TOC Monitoring for Real-time Release

Even today, some TOC instruments restrict measurement
to only one parameter at a time, requiring the user to
choose which critical measurement they wish to monitor
at any moment. This characteristic of the instrument will
also inhibit fault determination if a water system upset
should occur by limiting the available diagnostic information to only one parameter.
The 6000TOCi's conductivity electronics are not only able
to be verified, but also fully calibrated separately from the
electro-mechanical measurement (cell constant) in order
to demonstrate electronics calibration compliance according to pharmacopeial requirements. This gives the user
complete confidence that they can easily meet the full
extent of all pharmaceutical regulatory requirements for
TOC and conductivity over the life of their instrument.

ing designs can continue to provide a TOC indication long
after the sample line has been isolated from the water
system. Designed for continuous measurement, the
6000TOCi constantly monitors system flow to ensure
proper operation, and will automatically indicate a flow
fault if the supply pressure is lost. In addition to this efficient design philosophy, the 6000TOCi is equipped with
a range of Intelligent Sensor Management (ISMĀ®) features
to simplify and assist with routine system maintenance.
By locally storing calibration and SST data, the 6000TOCi
grants quick and simple access to up to ten historic calibration and SST records. In addition, detailed sensor status
information, such as calibration and SST tracking, UV Lamp
Life and Water Filter age, help optimize maintenance intervals. These monitors will automatically track and manage
all routine maintenance operations for the TOC instrument.

Advanced technology for greater reliability
The 6000TOCi and M800 Transmitter provide fast, easy access to critical water system parameters. Through measurements including TOC, TOC Rate of Change, Maximum TOC
and Minimum TOC, the 6000TOCi delivers a complete TOC
solution for real-time release of pharmaceutical waters. These
measurements combined with the graphing capabilities of the
M800 provide a dashboard which enables immediate trending of your water system performance and the ability to
rapidly identify and respond to developing trends.

ISM addresses limitations of traditional
instrumentation
Intelligent Sensor Management helps to eliminate
issues for maintaining water system compliance.
For example:
* Sensor failure: The Dynamic Lifetime Indicators
for the lamp, filter, and ballast offer specific data
warnings that a sensor needs maintenance.
* Calibration date planning: ISM sensors inform
in advance of an upcoming calibration to avoid
missed or late calibration.
* Provide critical regulatory information:
Electronic documentation demonstrates that
required tests have been performed with data
to support regulatory compliance.
* System calibration: The METTLER TOLEDO
Thornton UniCondĀ® Calibrator and Pharma
Waters Verifier are the only tools that permit
calibration of both the digital sensor and the
measurement circuit to ensure the
measurement system is in compliance with
global pharmacopeia standards.

Along with cutting-edge technical features to aid with
effective process control, the 6000TOCi benefits from a
crisp and efficient engineering design which simplifies
installation, enhances the reliability of the system, and
increases measurement uptime. Constructed around an
efficient hydro-mechanical design, the 6000TOCi is a
highly reliable instrument, free of pumps and cycling
isolation valves needed for operation of most batch-measurement alternatives. This design philosophy provides a
solution with minimum complexity, and eliminates many
high-risk points of failure.
Depending on the system configuration and sample rate,
complex batch measurement systems with internal pump-
