Fort Frontenac, Kingston, ON (Mid-MayAugust 31, 1984). Fort Frontenac,a French
fort built in 1673, is the earliest European
military site in Ontario and the longest
continuouslyoccupied urban center in the
province. Substantial sections of the 17th
and 18th-century limestone fortifications
have been excavated. Old Fort Henry (a
restored 19th-century fortification), the
MarineMuseumof the Great Lakes and the
