When did you know you wanted to be an audiologist? I have known since high school that I wanted to work with people with hearing loss so audiology was a perfect fit for me. I have been fortunate to practice in a wide variety of settings with a wide range of populations. What do you love most about your work? After working clinically for 20+ years, I shifted gears and began working at Concordia University Wisconsin. It has been very rewarding to be involved in helping students become future members of our growing profession. How would you describe ASHA Professional Development courses? The content is thorough and well presented. I truly appreciate the variety of formats so I can complete the courses in the timeframe that best fits my schedule. I can always count on ASHA to have online materials to assist in my professional development. Is there an APD course that you would recommend to others? I truly found Cutting-Edge Issues in Audiology [see listing at left] to be quite beneficial. The recorded sessions provided the equivalent of an 8-hour live conference. I learned the latest information on patient-centered service delivery for older adults through the perspectives of different speakers. How do you spend your spare time? I enjoy attending my four children's sporting events. I also love to bake treats for my family and friends.https://www.asha.org/eweb/olsdynamicpage.aspx?title=hearing+aids+and+the+brain%3a+implications+for+auditory+rehabilitation&webcode=olsdetails https://www.asha.org/eweb/olsdynamicpage.aspx?title=cutting-edge+issues+in+audiology%3a+best+buy&webcode=olsdetails
