NAHSA National Association for Hearing and Speech Action (NAHSA) Guarding The Public's Communication Health The National Association for Hearing and Speech Action (NAHSA) is ASHA's consumer-facing affiliate. NAHSA's mission is to provide public education about topics and issues related to communication disorders. It promotes the work of ASHA members by publishing consumer‑aimed brochures and placing op‑eds in national newspapers, as well as by funding and creating outreach campaigns. NAHSA's recent outreach efforts include: * Promoting World Hearing Day through a digital campaign that reached an audience of 83 million. * Supporting the International Communication Project in promoting International Literacy Day. * Launching Identify the Signs, which stresses the importance of early intervention. * Creating the Value of the CCCs campaign, which promotes the value of members who have earned ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence. * Collaborating with the Read Aloud 15 MINUTES campaign to develop a joint digital toolkit about communication milestones.
