The American Speech-LanguageHearing Foundation is looking
for the "best of the best," and
now is the time to recognize your
colleagues' accomplishments
by submitting nominations for
the ASHFoundation's clinical
achievement awards. The
nomination deadline is April 10.

be recognized at ASHFoundation
events during the 2015 ASHA
Convention in Denver and in

Frank R. Kleffner
Clinical Career Award
This award recognizes outstanding
contributions to clinical science and
practice in communication sciences
and disorders over a period of at
least 20 years in clinical service,
supervision or administration of
clinical service, clinical research,
or other activity that has promoted
clinical excellence.
A nominee's accomplishments
may have taken place anywhere in
the world. The contributions must
have been specific and multiple with
great impact on recipients of service
and must demonstrate improvement
or acceleration of quality of clinical
care in speech-language pathology
and/or audiology. This awardee

receives a commemorative art object
and a recognition plaque.
This award is named for Frank
R. Kleffner, past president of the
ASHFoundation and ASHA, who
worked tirelessly to professionalize
and expand the ASHFoundation's
charitable mission.

M. DiCarlo Awardee, are recognized at the
Founders Breakfast.

Louis M. DiCarlo Award
for Recent Clinical Achievement
Each state association is invited
to select one individual to
receive an ASHFoundation State
Clinical Achievement Award for
contributions to the advancement
of knowledge in clinical practice
in speech-language pathology
or audiology. One of these state
awardees will be selected to receive
the Louis M. DiCarlo Award. Every
state association is encouraged to
select an awardee.
The DiCarlo Award recipient is
chosen for specific accomplishments
within the past six years, between
2009 and 2015. There are no
restrictions on clinical achievement

or activity, but the accomplishment
must be specific, clearly defined
and substantiated, and within the
specified time frame. The honoree
will receive $1,500 to further the
work upon which this award is
based.
The award is named for the late
Louis M. DiCarlo, the originator
of the fund, who had a long and
distinguished CSD clinical career.

Rolland J. Van Hattum Award
for Contribution in the Schools
This award recognizes exemplary
commitment and contribution to the
delivery of school-based audiology
and/or speech-language pathology
services. The awardee, who must
be employed by a school system,
receives $1,500.
Examples of eligible activities or
achievements include exemplary
clinical services, supervision
or research; development of an
innovative clinical or training
program, especially one that
is replicable; promotion or
enhancement of public or private
support for school-based audiology
and speech-language pathology
services.
This award is named for the
late Rolland J. Van Hattum, who
dedicated his professional career to
providing and supporting audiology
and speech-language pathology
services in schools.
