I wrote this book because
I wanted to help educate
the public about the role of
school-based SLPs, increase
awareness about the diffferent
communication disorders
that school-based SLPs treat,
and raise empathy and
understanding for children who
have communication disorders.
I take the reader on a full day
adventure with Mrs. Dennis, a
school-based SLP, and give a
glimpse into her world as she
works with different students
throughout the school building.
I wrote the book for parents
of children who are receiving
speech-language pathology
services and for teachers
to raise awareness of
communication disorders with
their students- to remind them
that everyone learns differently
and needs help in different
ways. SLPs can use this book to
target a variety of skills.
All children will be enlightened
after learning about Mrs.
Dennis, an important member
of their school community.

key terms.
