Needless to say, I’m ecstatic that this year, ASHRAE has reachaed an even bigger milestone - for the first time ever, more than $2 million was invested in ASHRAE by over 6,500 members and companies. I use the term invested instead of donated deliberately. When you— either personally or as a company —give money to ASHRAE, you’re actually investing in your future and the future of the HVAC&R industry. ASHRAE has achieved its distinctive position within the industry through its technical research program and because of the major financial commitments from its membership and the HVAC&R corporate community. Without that support, the Research Program would not be the leader it has been in the 20th century and continues to be into the 21st century. Some 18 month ago, the Research Promotion Committee adopted a new slogan—Researching Today to Change Tomorrow. Thanks to your support and the record breaking $2 million, that saying is certainly true. Thanks to your contributions, ASHRAE research will continue to further technology to help keep indoor environments comfortable and productive, deliver healthy food to consumers and preserve the natural environment. I would especially like to thank the 200+ Research Promotion volunteers— from the Society-level regional vice chairs to the chapter-level Research Promotion chairs, co-chairs and other chapter volunteers who helped with fundraisers, research nights and technical seminars. Without their time, hard work and dedication to ASHRAE, this campaign would not have enjoyed this amazing success. I would also like to recognize the companies that have permitted their employees to solicit for research and ASHRAE support during company business hours. To each of these companies I extend a very special thank you for this invaluable contribution to the 2007 – 08 Campaign. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to the more than 1,000 investors who supported ASHRAE this past year below the honor roll level and could not be listed on these pages because of space limitations. The Honor Roll that follows lists the names of more than 5,500 investors who have made significant financial commitments to ASHRAE during the 2007 – 08 fiscal year, ending on June 30th. Your name and honor roll listing is important to us and ASHRAE appreciates the interest and investment of each individual, company and organization listed in these pages. We strive to be as accurate and complete as possible but in a listing of this length, errors are bound to occur. Please accept our sincere apology for any inadvertent omissions and mistakes and please notify us of any errors so we can correct them for future publications.
