Welcome to ACREX India 2014

Messages from ISHRAE, ASHRAE
A

s president of ISHRAE, it is indeed a privilege and
pleasure to extend a warm welcome to the partners,
exhibitors, delegates, visitors, guests, friends and wellwishers to ACREX India 2014 here in Delhi.
The requirement of sustainability of the built environment is of prime priority. The need for innovation in design
of systems and products, consideration of environmental
protection aspects, improvement
of energy efficiency and proper
application of technological advancements cannot be overemphasized. To this end, the objective
for ACREX this year is to achieve
carbon neutral status.
The challenges faced by us as
professional engineers in the built
environment industry is to achieve
the balance between providing for

the need of the application, ensuring that minimum resources are used, and that there is a
bare minimum or no impact on the environment to ensure
sustainability. The resources at our command to achieve
this objective are constantly improving. ACREX is that
platform for the manufacturers and dealers to showcase
their latest technological advancement of products and
services for the beneﬁt of the designers and users.
ACREX India is endorsed by ASHRAE and supported
by REHVA, AHRI, CAER, IGBC, AIACRA, RAMA,
FSAI, and many others.
ACREX also features workshops with leading experts,
academicians and technocrats from across the globe
participating with lectures and interactive sessions and
sharing their rich experiences. These sessions become the
tools for hands-on learning for industry professionals. The
knowledge helps empower people in the industry to be able
to use the latest advancements to tackle the needs of the
users, while ensuring the least impact on the environment,
providing sustainable solutions for building services.
My deepest gratitude goes to a plethora of partners
and exhibitors without whose support this show could
not have been organized. I must acknowledge the entire
organizing team of ISHRAE volunteers and the team
of the show producers M/s NM India who have put in
unstinted efforts in putting this great show together and
making it such a resounding success.

you to ACREX India 2014, and I look forward to
seeing you at the expo.
ACREX gives professionals working in the built environment industry access to innovative and successful
technologies from around the world. Armed with this
resource, they can contribute to improved design, construction and operation of buildings
and systems.
Our industry has a strong legacy
and ambitious goals for the future.
ASHRAE's theme this year, Shaping the Next, focuses on embracing our responsibility to "Our
World," making buildings safe,
healthy, productive, comfortable
environments, while building and
operating them in harmony with
Bahnﬂeth
nature. To do this, I believe we
must develop "Ourselves"-the human resource of the
professional community-so that we can transform "Our
Work"-what we do, how we do it and with whom we
do it. By becoming more global in outlook, broader in
scope, and more collaborative in approach, we will be
successful. If we are to realize these goals, we need the
energy and expertise of everyone in the built environment
community, including yours.
ACREX is an opportunity to come together to share
ideas and visions of how to improve "Our World," "Ourselves" and "Our Work." I am excited to attend ACREX,
and I am pleased that ASHRAE is sharing the technology
developed by its research program and members through
a bookstore at the event. As an organization with members in more than 130 countries, ASHRAE has a large
role to play in our global industry, and our members in
India are a vital part of ASHRAE's efforts to promote a
sustainable world. With seven chapters and more than 900
members, India ranks third, after the U.S. and Canada, in
terms of members.
ACREX provides an important opportunity to reach out
to the many, varied communities that together comprise
our industry. ASHRAE and its more than 54,000 members
around the world encourage you to take full advantage of
ACREX. Thank you for taking part.
