student who is either currently working on, or proposing to work on, a
research project that has relevance to ASHRAE. The student must also
have a faculty advisor who will supervise the research. Applicants from
all ASHRAE regions worldwide are eligible.
Graduate student grants-in-aid applications can be downloaded from
the " Research " page of the ASHRAE website under the " Research Grants
and Awards " page (https://tinyurl.com/4tfkntks) or " Student Zone "
page (https://tinyurl.com/ymcf54ce). Faculty advisors send completed
applications and student transcripts to the Manager of Research &
Technical Services, ASHRAE, 180 Technology Parkway NW, Peachtree
Corners, GA 30092 by no later than March 1st (new submission
deadline) of each year.
 RESEARCH EXPENDITURES 
The Board of Directors have approved $1.9 million for research
projects and grants-in-aid payments for fi scal year 2024 - 2025, but
a large portion of this amount has already been committed to the
approximately 36 active projects already under way. Also competing
for new project funds are thirteen tentative research projects and many
other project topics in various stages of development.
Active projects are summarized in this report. The summaries include:
the title of the project, the start date, the end date or projected (P)
end date, the names of the contractor and principal investigator, the
sponsoring technical committee monitoring the research, earmarked
co-funding and a brief description of the project.
