Sustainable features are integrated building blocks of the design rather than attachments. The end result is a form expressive of its passive design strategies - from the curtain wall to the use of the ventilation stacks as an organizing element in the building. But the more important outcome is PCC's engagement in living within the building's energy footprint, educating themselves and students about energy-saving behavioral changes - such as wearing seasonally appropriate clothing - and the larger issue of environmental stewardship.
