"We achieved a successful selection of two consistent colored/grained Anigre logs to supply the majority of veneer for the wall paneling in the hall. Veneers were graded, sorted and bookmatched on wall panels with specialized acoustic properties; absorptive and reflective, depending upon the locations in the hall." Coordinated Team Although the quality of the wall panel fabrication and installation are noteworthy, Wilmot adds, "the balcony railings and operable parterre rail in the lower orchestra cross aisle are probably the most intricate and challenging scope of the work. Coordination of detailing between the architectural woodwork and miscellaneous metal shops was extremely challenging as well." "Millwork One provided extensive design assist services during the construction documentation phase of project," Wilmot continues, "providing cost estimating, constructability reviews and coordination with various metals." Mello adds, "We worked with the architectural team as a design-build partner by meeting biweekly, providing drawings of complex details and producing samples and mockups. We assisted in helping to cut back on lead times and with sourcing the veneer and solid wood. We worked closely together to accomplish the designer's vision for the space by using functional and achievable woodworking details." 40 I designsolutions summer 2019
