" Predominantly White Oak was used with a few different finishes to achieve the desired look, " note Knauer. " Reclaimed Oak flooring with a wax finish was selected. Grey stained Oak shutters and coffered ceiling simulate a weathered appearance. Cherry-stained Oak bar die and back bar provide a contrast to the grey Oak and make it stand out. Toasted Oak table tops with chatter marks and white painted shiplap siding are found throughout the dining space. " Showpieces The bar is a showpiece and an important focal point of the restaurant, points out Dix. " The intricate batten work - a combination of wood and metal - on the front facade of the bar makes a strong statement. The bar is both beautiful and durable and the back bar also dazzles with all the antique mirrors, giving it depth and visual appeal. The stacked luggage suitcase soffit is a dynamic design element. The suitcases are incorporated into a decorative soffit that wraps around the main dining area. The designers sought to convey a traveler setting, and this feature beautifully conveys their vision. Mock Woodworking built the radius framework for the luggage design. " spring 2021 I designsolutions 31
