something with interest, but
not too wild or busy. We also
sought a mid-toned wood
that wasn't too dark or too
light. Walnut felt like a very
comfortable middle ground
for our space. "
Wood is featured
throughout client-facing
spaces in millwork, doors,
and the reception desk. It is
also carried into the partner
space for workstation and
private office furniture.
The Challenges
This project started during
the height of Covid, notes
Perrin. " The decision makers
were not local and every
meeting and presentation
was held via Zoom. We were
presenting finishes and
dealing with 10+ participants
on every call. We had to
work with ever-changing
product availability and an
unstable market where we
didn't know from day to day
what we could get or not get.
This project required a lot of
patience and creative ideas
when we had to pivot from
option to option as things
became available or wouldn't
make our deadline. "
Everything Acacia
produces is noteworthy, says
Perrin. " Their shop drawings
are incredibly detailed, and
they think about things that
we don't even consider
when we're designing. They
make us better collaborators
and help us think through
minutiae in the details.
They executed everything
with precision, including
the curved elements at
the reception desk and
coordination with the stone
vendor for countertops and
other accents. "
What makes this project
noteworthy is the beautiful
simplicity of the design,
well-chosen finishes and
extraordinary execution of
details, says Fuller. " The
process of creating it all and
how well a highly motivated
and capable team can work
together is what makes
it memorable for us. All
assignments should be this
great of an experience! "
Perrin Projects is truly gifted
in the realm of design concepts
and finishes, he adds. " We
believe we brought our
experience with engineering
and the finer design points of
execution to the table to help
create an environment that
was more than just beautiful. It
was welcoming, peaceful and
powerful all combined. The
project stakeholders seemed
to feel all objectives were
accomplished and perhaps a
few more. "
