their products as DNA-, RNase-, and endotoxin-free.
This should also be a consideration for any other plastic consumables, such as pipette tips used to transfer reagents or microtubes that hold a master mix.
It is important to note that sterile consumables (PCR
plates, strips, tubes, and pipette tips) are not required
for accurate PCR for COVID detection. The samples
and reagents and thermal cycler environment are not
sterile, and while sterile consumables could offer an

extra level of protection, they are not required. The
most important consideration is selecting products
that are high quality and manufactured free of PCR
contaminants.
