Question: What advice do you
have for parents who think
they either can't afford life
insurance or think that it's
something they can get later?
Boomer Esiason: I learned at
7 when my mom died that no
one is guaranteed a tomorrow, so I'd probably look them
in the eye and say, "Just imagine if something happened to
you and you hadn't done the
planning. The people you leave
behind will feel the brunt of
your mistakes."

Awareness Month (LIAM)
is just around the corner, which is big news for us. At
no other time of the year is more
attention focused on what we
do-and why it's so important. So
it makes sense for you and your
agents to take maximum advantage
of the spotlight that will be shining on life insurance to reach out
to clients and prospects.
A big part of that spotlight during September will be focused on
LIAM spokesperson Boomer Esiason,
MVP quarterback and TV and radio
commentator. He's back for a second year of promoting the wonders
of life insurance. He was such a powerful spokesperson last year (his TV
public service announcement was in
the top 8% of most-viewed national
PSAs in any category) that Life Happens, which coordinates the LIAM
campaign on behalf of the industry,
has engaged him for a second year
to build on the positive buzz he and
the industry created.
It's easier than ever to leverage
his star power. Life Happens has created a range of free Boomer-related resources that agents can use in
their outreach to clients and prospects, such as a one-page flyer, a
great Q&A (see box) and short motivational videos that can be sent via
email, among others.
Plus, if you'd like to motivate
your agents and rally them around

This is a heartfelt call out to agents
thanking them for the work they do
and asking them to reach out and
help those who are uninsured or
underinsured to get the coverage
they need. It's very powerful stuff!
