A traditional marketing organization, the agency was founded on the principle that insurance brokers need education and support. Today, the agency is led by principals Eugene Cohen, CEO, and his son Michael Cohen, President. The agency includes pre-sale teams and facilitation specialists. Separated into four teams (Life, LongTerm Care, Disability, and Annuity), Eugene Cohen Insurance Agency, Inc. is staffed by skilled professionals who are well-versed in the complexities of the insurance industry and are committed to serving brokers across the country. These teams are strongly supported by case managers, application processors, and contracting/licensing specialists. Because of this exceptional personalized service, Eugene Cohen Insurance Agency, Inc. has earned the trust of brokers industry-wide. What makes your agency unique? How is it different from others offering the same services? There is no secret sauce to the brokerage business. To succeed, you must accomplish certain tasks diligently and ethically every day and serve your brokers. You must educate and train brokers how to sell and present products, and you must process efficiently, transparently, and expeditiously. If you are the owner, you're the first one there in the morning and the last one to leave at night. We are very dedicated agency owners. When we are not working, which is not often, we spend as much time with our family as possible. We try to instill a family first attitude, not only in our personal lives, but in the lives of our employees as well. When people join our agency, they very seldom leave because they become part of our extended family. We have employees who have been with us since we started the agency. Family life is very important to us, and it's what helps to push us every day. Where do you see your agency in the next three to five years? I see our agency continuing to grow. Our philosophy is to educate brokers on product and sales training. Insurance agents, as we know them, were hired and trained by insurance companies. Since fewer insur- ance companies recruit, hire, and train agents, it is up to us to educate today's insurance agents, who are now financial planners, casualty agents, and health agents. These individuals can be motivated to offer life insurance and related products to their clients. Now that products have become more comprehensive, the need for our services is greater than ever. The need is there, and they need us more than ever. How does being a NAILBA member benefit you and your business? NAILBA is an amazing organization that helped teach us the brokerage business.
