About the Agency
Founded in 1980, Eugene Cohen
Insurance Agency, Inc. has grown
to more than 35 team members.
A traditional marketing organization, the agency was founded on
the principle that insurance brokers
need education and support.
Today, the agency is led by principals Eugene Cohen, CEO, and his
son Michael Cohen, President. The
agency includes pre-sale teams
and facilitation specialists. Separated into four teams (Life, LongTerm Care, Disability, and Annuity),
Eugene Cohen Insurance Agency,
Inc. is staffed by skilled professionals who are well-versed in the complexities of the insurance industry
and are committed to serving brokers across the country. These teams
are strongly supported by case managers, application processors, and
contracting/licensing specialists.
Because of this exceptional personalized service, Eugene Cohen Insurance Agency, Inc. has earned the
trust of brokers industry-wide.
What makes your agency
unique? How is it different
from others offering the
same services?
There is no secret sauce to the brokerage business. To succeed, you
must accomplish certain tasks diligently and ethically every day and
serve your brokers. You must educate and train brokers how to sell
and present products, and you must
process efficiently, transparently,
and expeditiously. If you are the
owner, you're the first one there in
the morning and the last one to
leave at night. You lead by example.

2015 Douglas Mooers Award of Excellence from Barbara Crowley, NAILBA's
2015 Immediate Past Chairman.
We are very dedicated agency owners. When we are not working, which is not often, we spend
as much time with our family as
possible. We try to instill a family
first attitude, not only in our personal lives, but in the lives of our
employees as well. When people join
our agency, they very seldom leave
because they become part of our
extended family. We have employees who have been with us since
we started the agency. Family life is
very important to us, and it's what
helps to push us every day.
Where do you see your agency
in the next three to five years?
I see our agency continuing to grow.
Our philosophy is to educate brokers on product and sales training.
Insurance agents, as we know them,
were hired and trained by insurance companies. Since fewer insur-
ance companies recruit, hire, and
train agents, it is up to us to educate today's insurance agents, who
are now financial planners, casualty agents, and health agents.
These individuals can be motivated
to offer life insurance and related
products to their clients. Now that
products have become more comprehensive, the need for our services is
greater than ever. The need is there,
and they need us more than ever.
How does being a NAILBA
member benefit you and
your business?
NAILBA is an amazing organization
that helped teach us the brokerage
business. There has never been a
more influential group in the insurance business that has helped more
consumers. It's amazing how NAILBA
has helped to foster such a competitive and efficient insurance distri-
