An impactful teammate
A softball player helps create meaningful relationships
between patients and their families and college teams.
CHA has partnered with
Team IMPACT to transform
the pediatric health care
experience by leveraging
teamwork, community, and
compassion. Refer patients

THROUGH TEAM IMPACT,
children with serious illness
and disability are matched with
college athletic teams. While
on the Princeton softball team,
Grace Jackson connected with
Brooke, a 16-year-old with
cerebral palsy, who received care
at Children's Specialized Hospital.
Now, Brooke is a part of the
Princeton softball family. The
experience led Jackson to be a
Team IMPACT fellow working with
other teams to amplify program
awareness and increase team
participation.
THE BOND: " Brooke was matched
with the Princeton softball team
in 2023 and had an immediate
impact. She taught us how to
handle adversity with the best
attitude and a smile, and she is
no doubt a reason for our team's
success this season. "
GETTING INVOLVED: " I have
always loved serving others but lost
touch with it during the pandemic.
Team IMPACT reinstated my
passion for being involved after
seeing how influential the work
is on children, their families, and
student athletes. "
MOST REWARDING: " I love the joy
from Team IMPACT. Witnessing the
special moments between teams
and matched children and seeing
the positive influence on student
athletes is the most rewarding. "
THE FUTURE: " I have absolutely
loved representing Team IMPACT
at Princeton, and I hope to
continue this work as I pursue
my master's and play softball at
UNC Chapel Hill. This experience
is life-changing and has inspired
me to establish more matches for
children and teams. "
