It's not goodbye
Children's Hospitals Today is transitioning to
an all-digital format in 2025.
C
hildren's Hospitals Today magazine
debuted in 1993 with a letter from
President Bill Clinton to our members. He
wrote, " Children's hospitals are the vanguard
of advancements in pediatric medicine,
research, and technology. "
Three decades later, that sentiment still
rings true. Children's hospitals have always
stood at the forefront of change, evolving
to meet the needs of pediatric patients with
pioneering research, cutting-edge technology,
and the highest-quality care.
Likewise, Children's Hospital Association
strives to meet you where you are today-
and where you will be tomorrow-as your
hospital advances patient care and operations.
That's why we're saying farewell to
the print edition of Children's Hospitals
Today and focusing efforts on digital resources
our members can more readily
access. We'll be able to provide more content
online and dive deeper into issues that
matter to you most.
While the change is exciting, we would
be remiss to move to the next iteration
without paying homage to the magazine's
legacy. Children's Hospitals Today was created
to give members tools, strategies, and
insights to improve pediatric health care.
Over the past 31 years, CHA has published
124 issues and shipped more than 1 million
magazines to members.
We've written about major Medicaid
milestones; covered solutions for countless
operational and clinical challenges;
charted your efforts during one of the
worst pandemics in modern history; and
offered strategies for unprecedented workforce
challenges. You told stories about
what changed you; gave opinions about
things that moved you; and shared ideas
that helped you better care for our nation's
pediatric patients.
So much has changed since we first published
30 years ago. Back then it was unthinkable
that we would have cures for genetic
disorders, or 3D printed organs, or the full sequence
of the human genome. But one thing
the 1993 White House letter noted hasn't
budged a bit: " Children are our nation's most
important resource. " That's why we're here,
and why we'll always be steadfastly committed
to children's hospitals' noble endeavor to
care for our country's most treasured assets.
We don't see this as an end but as a new
journey. We'll see you online with the same
depth of reporting and actionable strategies
to empower you to achieve your mission.
None of it is possible without your
stories, ideas, and opinions, so please tell us
what you think and how we can continue to
support your children's hospital.
