Long-term goals need to be
identified and broken down
into achievable steps that are
carried out according to clear
timelines. Such goals include:
y Global recognition of
professional standards.
y Universal adoption of
certification systems.
y Integration of advanced
technologies.
y Sustainable career growth.
y Widespread industry
regulation.
That underdeveloped
markets need time to
establish themselves is
normal and requires patience
as we work toward addressing
big issues. It's important to
recognize that these efforts
benefit everyone's business.
For practitioners, it means
higher credibility, better
career opportunities, and fair
compensation. For companies,
standardized practices lead to
greater efficiency, streamlined
workflows, and improved
service offerings. For clients,
it guarantees consistent
quality, trust in the services
provided, and transparent
pricing, all of which will lead
to better outcomes and
stronger relationships. In
some cases where the
language might have several
variants, as is the case with
Vietnamese, professionalization
and standardization will help
translators/interpreters and
companies avoid critical
mistakes when it comes to
satisfying their clients' actual
requirements and
expectations. For clients,
professionalization and
standardization will help
them find the right
practitioner(s) with
standardized rates,
qualifications, and specialized
knowledge. It will also provide
peace of mind, which benefits
everyone's bottom line.
