Attending the AKC NAC was a huge accomplishment
for Chwistek and Audie. Chwistek says,"Just being able to show
up and participate with all the other competitors was really cool.
I wasn't really sure Audie would run in the ring, but he did."

Goals and the Future
Chwistek's goals for Audie were big. She
wanted him to go the AKC Nationals
and earn a Performance Agility Championship (PACH). Within six years, the
pair had done both.
Unfortunately, health problems have
made agility a thing of the past for Audie: he ruptured his cruciate ligament and
had TPLO surgery in the fall of 2015.
Chistwek plans to retire him. But Audie

won't sit at home, bored. Chwistek says,
"I [had] been visiting children's libraries
with Audie in support of their reading
programs over the past several years.
A er I adopted Audie, I was asked by a
children's book author, Dorothy Patent,
if I'd be willing to let her write a book
about him. I agreed. I don't receive anything from the sales of this book. I supplied a lot of the photos that they used,
like the photo of Audie in pants and the
shoe photo. It's the book that I use when
I go to libraries to tell children about
dogs. A friend and school teacher goes
with me and she talks about and reads

the book. en, Audie comes out for a
meet and greet and he does a bunch of
tricks I've taught him. ....I hope to increase those visits." She also plans to do
Nosework and therapy visits. Chwistek
adds, "Mostly though, Audie had a really
bad start to his life. I want to make that
up to him by giving him a safe place to
live and lots of opportunity to do what
he likes to do." D
