Seems like the New Year just arrived. In January, we were sure we would be ready for the college graduations, spring weddings, baseball practices , and spring/ summer trials. Where did the time go? We’re putting our vegetable gardens in while filling entry forms for the summer trials. Which trial to choose? Weekend reservations? Who has time for course designs? Here are three nested courses to use at class, or just in our backyard for practice. Take time to sniff the flowers and to train with our best agility friends! 2 3 5 4 1 21 5 4 1 Advanced Course 1 A very tight wrap from jump #2 to tire #3 is needed to make this sequence as efficient as possible. Discuss with handlers how a “wide” turn after jump #2 can cost time here. INTERMEDIATE COURSE 9 8 7 11 6 5 T 12 13 FOCUS STATIONS Intermediate Focus Station 1 10 14 4 4 3 2 1 15 3 2 1 Intermediate Course Either a front cross before jump #2 or a rear cross after jump #2 should help with a tight, direct path to the broad jump. At this level, are the dogs starting to set themselves correctly for an angled approach to a spread jump? Invite handlers to make this path as efficient as possible. 1 76 Clean Run | May 07
