Second Point to Reward: Base of the Jump as Dog Round the Corner Most dogs put their heads very low as they gather to accelerate around the corner of a jump, so that's the position that we look to click and reward next. The criteria are leaving the bar up and arriving at the point of reward having stayed inside the semicircle. You want to reward right at the base of the wing of the jump. Get down low and reward at or by your foot. In these photos, Kristy is working on the front cross position and the wrap. Zip is driving around the wing into her foot with his head nice and low, ready to accelerate out of the turn. If the dog accelerates any earlier, the turn will be wide. Again, she is using a stationary reward. Kristy is starting the exercise in front cross position and releasing Zip to do the wrap. This time Kristy will be in wrap position. She is starting the exercise as shown because we want to reward for the head low as the dog comes around the corner of the jump. 10 Clean Run | August 20
