A Final Bow

As many of you are aware, in January 2020, we ceased
production of Clean Run as a print magazine and became a digital-only magazine. Subscriptions had been
dwindling over the years, and we were fighting the
battle that all magazines face right now-rapidly increasing paper and postage costs along with reduced
print advertisers as they have moved on to Facebook
and Google.
With the majority of agility competitors falling into
the 45-65+ age groups, we knew that this switch was
not likely to be welcomed. Still, it was a last-ditch effort to preserve something that I've been passionate
about for 26 years, and that once played a very vital
role in the agility community. But now there are other
ways for all of us to share information, and the information that people want is different than it was two
decades ago.
The digital-only edition has been as poorly received
as we thought was likely to happen. I can't blame people; after spending all day on a computer, I don't want
to read things on a screen (plus I like the portability
of paper and the feel of it in my hands). So, it's time to
put sentimentality aside and put the magazine to bed
once and for all.
Clean Run has become so much more than a magazine
over the years, and I've realized that it's okay to let go
of a part of the business that doesn't work anymore.
There's so much good training information available
that doesn't lend itself to brief magazine articles. It
needs to be in books and videos and classes where
people can have a more in-depth experience. So, I
intend to use the time and resources that have been
going into the magazine to start working on the list of
literally hundreds of projects that I haven't been able
to finish over the years because of how much time I
put into the magazine. I want to get back to working
closely with trainers to help them get their material

out to the agility world. And, of course, we'll continue
with finding new toys, training products, equipment
and other agility essentials for our retail store.
The December 2020 issue will be the last monthly issue of the magazine. (I will leave the door open for
some possible special issues in the future that will
be sold individually.) For those of you who still have
issues remaining in your subscription after the December issue, we would like to offer you access to our
entire library of digital magazines (back to 2006) for
January and all other remaining months of your subscription. If that is not of interest to you, please contact info@cleanrun.com, and we can issue you a store
credit for your remaining issues or a refund.
We do intend to continue some of our popular features, such as Backyard Dogs, as a subscription service in the Clean Run Learning Center, so people can
continue to get new exercises to practice along with
the ability to ask questions and discuss exercises. So,
if you choose a store credit for your remaining issues,
you would be able to use it for Learning Center purchases as well.
We would also like to invite you to join our Clean Run
Magazine group on Facebook (which is different than

information. We will also use this group as a vehicle
