PHOTOGRAPHY: COURTESY OF IIDA Hotel-Public Space Hotel-Entire Property Project W Bogota Hotel Where Bogota, Colombia Designer Studio GAIA Studio GAIA's design for the public spaces of W Hotel Bogota recalls Colombia's legend of El Dorado, the mythical city of gold. The lobby features an installation inspired by the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude and includes a gold wall, falling water, and amber-hued bronze and resin suspended butterflies. The reception desks mimic drops of molten gold and are reflected in the mirrored ceiling. A black tunnel with rugs inspired by Wayuu textiles leads guests to a high-ceiling space with semi-private seating areas in pods that resemble calla lily petals. The 168 guestrooms feature accents of gold, textured rugs, and beds with flower-patterned headboards that wrap the ceiling. contract
