FEATURE To renovate the interior to better serve multimodal, modern-day work needs, interior architecture firm Going East stripped the floors and removed walls to open up the space to a variety of workstations. An in-house cafe and restaurant (right) by Coffeelabs is among the amenities of F&S Brussels. The newly configured open-plan interior allows for communal and focused, library-style workstations (below, left). The chandelierlike fixtures (below, right) bring a luxe, hospitality-driven edge to the interiors. The firm was partly inspired by the pared-back aesthetic of Scandinavian and Japanese designs, drawing upon a minimalist palette of pale ash, leather, and neutral tones to complement the original concrete walls (opposite). 28 contractdesign.com SEPTEMBER 2019http://www.contractdesign.com
