At In Situ at SFMOMA in San Francisco, communal high and low tables welcome guests into the open-plan restaurant, while a sculptural ceiling installation draws eyes to colorful framed gouache paintings by American artist Tucker Nichols on the back wall (opposite). Glass sculptures descend from skylights at nearby Bar Agricole, bringing a sense of movement and naturally illuminated play to the interiors; there, angular, wood-lined booths create intimate nooks (above and below, left). Multiple dining and drinking spaces merge together at Monsieur Benjamin in Hayes Valley neighborhood, where the line between indoor and outdoor dining is beautifully blurred (below). contract
