INTERIORS AWARDS 88 PHOTOGRAPHY: ERIC LAIGNEL A meeting space in Siebert Hall sports an eye-catching ceiling sculpture framed by cove lighting (above). A prefunction hall retains character through restored wainscoting, molding, massive columns, and a coffered ceiling. The Bond Room has a laid-back, lounge-like atmosphere with soft seating and a low coffee table. The library's clean, modern aesthetic is anything but an old and stuffy traditional design; shelf lighting makes it easier to find a title while also illuminating the space. The restaurant holds the original bar and back bar with some refinished surfaces (this page, clockwise from right). Some of the existing artifacts-such as an ornate fire hose and old bond documents-become decorative elements within the new halls and rooms (opposite). contractdesign.com JANUARY 2020http://www.contractdesign.com
