FERRARI
Ferrari will add stop-start and other fuel saving technologies to the California roadster. The technology reduces CO2 emissions by 10 percent to 270g/km (from 299g/km) in the European homologation cycle. The company said that in city driving alone fuel consumption and emissions are cut up to 20 percent. Other fuel technologies added to the California include brushless fans to reduce friction in engine cooling; revised air conditioning to reduce mechanical energy use; revised fuel pumps and gearbox actuators to reduce the use of electricity and thus fuel consumption.

FORD

Sporty ST will top Focus lineup
Ford will unveil the Focus ST, the flagship of the new global Focus lineup. The 250-hp sporty ST has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine. Three production-ready Focus body styles will also be displayed in Paris – a five-door hatchback, a four-door sedan and a station wagon. The cars will go on sale early in 2011. The Focus ST follows a year later. The fresh Focus lineup is significant for Ford, as it signals the launch of the first truly global product developed under the One Ford strategy. The Focus was developed on the company’s new global compact car segment platform and has up to 80 percent parts commonality around the world. Ford will also debut the core technology that will power a plug-in hybrid electric C-Max, which will be built in Valencia, Spain, and will go on sale in Europe starting in 2013.

Ford Focus ST

FIAT
Fiat will unveil the 500millesima, which features portraits of 1,500 buyers of the car on its body panels. Also on Fiat’s stand will be a low-emissions Punto Evo subcompact hatchback with an 85-hp 1.3-liter diesel engine that emits 95g/km of CO2, 12g/km less than the current Punto Evo. The Bravo, Doblo and Qubo will be shown with stop-start technology.

High-endTitanium versions of the redesigned five-seat C-Max and seven-seat Grand C-Max will also be on Ford"s stand. A face-lifted Mondeo will be unveiled with a new fuel-efficient powertrain and the Ka gets stop-start technology.

HONDA
The Jazz hybrid will be the world’s first hybrid-electric car in the subcompact segment, Honda says. The hybrid has the same 1.3-liter gasoline-electric engine combined with an electric motor as the Insight hybrid compact car. Revised headlights, a new grille, restyled bumpers and a chrome tailgate are among features added to the Jazz hybrid to differentiate it from the current Jazz.

HYUNDAI

Genesis coupe, ix20 are stars
A European-spec Genesis coupe, the new ix20 minivan and a diesel-hybrid SUV will be among Hyundai’s show stars. The rear-wheel-drive Genesis coupe will go on sale in Europe soon after the Paris show as an affordable rival to the Audi A5 and BMW 3-series coupe. It will be sold with a powerful 303-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine or a 210-hp 2.0-liter unit. Hyundai will also show the Genesis sedan and its Equus flagship. The company says it will monitor reaction to the Genesis sedan and Equus at the show before deciding whether to sell them in Europe. Hyundai says the ix20 has a dynamic, sporty profile that is a striking departure from the more boxy-looking models typically found in the small minivan segment. JAGUAR
A coupe concept about the size of the XK will preview a new styling direction for Jaguar. A key feature will be a new oblong grille, press reports before the show said. The concept will also showcase Jaguar’s hybrid technology.

against models such as the Opel/Vauxhall Meriva and Renault Modus. The ix20 a sister model to the Kia Venga, which went on sale in January. The ix20 will go on sale shortly after the show. A diesel-hybrid ix35 SUV concept that has CO2 emissions of 117g/km will be unveiled, as well as a restyled version of the i10 minicar with a new 1.0-liter engine that emits 99g/km.
