Manzoni earned a degree in architecture in Florence, Italy, before joining Fiat
Auto's Lancia brand in 1993. In 1999,
he moved to Seat before returning in
2001 to Lancia, where he led the design
department and created the much acclaimed Fulvia coupe concept. Manzoni
added the Fiat passenger car and LCV
brands to his responsibilities in 2004.
Two years later he joined the Volkswagen Group as creative design director.
He moved to Ferrari in 2010.

REASON FOR WINNING
Manzoni's mission was to create Ferrari's
first in-house design department, including a model making area, a virtual reality
lab and hiring high-level specialists and
designers. Since Manzoni joined Ferrari,
the design department has created more
than 30 production and one-off models,
from the F12 Berlinetta to the limitededition LaFerrari hypercar. Manzoni's
team delivered convincing results, both
with modern reinterpretations of past
iconic models such as the Monza SP1
and SP2, and with all-new designs, such
as the just-launched SF90 Stradale.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
The son of a car dealer, Griffiths started
working in the family business before
studying international management and
German in Leeds, England. Griffiths' career has closely been linked to the Volkswagen Group. He joined Audi in 1989,
then worked at Seat between 1991 and
1993 before returning to Audi. He moved
to Seat again in 2016 to head sales and
marketing. At Audi, Griffiths helped the
brand to become the premium segment
leader in its German home market and in
Europe as a whole.

REASON FOR WINNING
Griffiths has helped Seat to increase
sales and become profitable after years
of losses. Last year Seat's global vehicle
sales rose 11 percent to a record 517,600.
Its operating profit was up by a third to
254 million euros. Since January, the British executive is also CEO of Seat's Cupra
business, which is now a stand-alone unit
selling high-performance, electrified models that will help Seat boost profits and reduce average CO2 emissions.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Denner joined Robert Bosch in 1986 as
a senior expert in power semiconductors,
becoming head of the department three
years later. He served as a senior manager in integrated circuit development
and electronic control units, rising to the
executive vice president level in 2000.
He became president of Bosch's automotive electronics division in 2003 and was
named CEO of the company in 2012.

REASON FOR WINNING
Some of the biggest European auto suppliers saw their profits slump in 2018,
but Bosch -- the largest of them all -has been a notable exception. Overall
sales increased to 77.9 billion euros,

with a profit of 5.3 billion euros and
a margin of 6.9 percent. Automotive
sales at the Mobility Solutions division
rose to 47.6 billion euros, with earnings of 3.5 billion euros and a margin of
7.1 percent. Denner says Bosch's focus
on high-tech areas means that the supplier can continue to increase profits
even as the overall global car market
faces challenges.
