100 leading female auto execs in North America A crowd of more than 900 celebrated the accomplishments of the North American industry's female luminaries last November in Detroit. Honorees gathered for a ceremony for the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry, presented by Automotive News Europe sister publication Automotive News. The progress of women in the North American auto industry in 2015 compared with 2010 was undeniable. In 2015 there were six female CEOs among automakers and suppliers on the list, up from two in 2010 -- the last time the list was compiled by Automotive News. Another three on the 2015 list for North America were CEOs of automaker or supplier units. None fit that description in 2010.
