FIXED OPS JOURNAL FIXED IN TIME 1930 In pre-World War II China, Packard was the top luxury automobile brand. This photo is from a Packard dealership in Shanghai that also sold Fiat and American Austin cars. The tow truck pictured is a modified 1930 Packard Eight Deluxe with fenders likely from a General Motors car and doors from a non-Packard coupe. The little car was powered by a Maytag washing machine motor and used to promote the appliance brand. PHOTO COURTESY OF KANTER AUTO PRODUCTS We encourage you to submit photos for Fixed In Time.
