MasterbatcH
ndc technologies to unveil
Hazepro gauge at K2019
NDC Technologies, a provider
of precision measurement and
control solutions, has developed a new solution for haze
management, enabling the online measurement of and real-time reports on haze in extruded plastic films. Haze is a
critical quality parameter for
plastic films, various plastic
sheet products and other transparent materials. A film or
sheet with a poor visible appearance can be problematic
for manufacturers trying to
maintain a specific quality
standard.
NDC's
HazePro
gauge measures the haze of
both narrow and wide films online with the highest accuracy
and reliability. Manufacturers
can adjust the film and sheet
extrusion process to tightly
maintain haze quality. Process
adjustments can be automated for real-time control of
haze. Film applications include
optical, packaging, flexible
packaging, agricultural, solar
panel, coatings on glass (such
as solar panels), anti-glare on
computer screens and other
uses. NDC's haze measurement complies with ASTM
standard D1003 for transparent materials.
The HazePro will be demonstrated at K2019 on NDC's Mini-Trak O-Frame scanner and
iView Pro.net process controller.
The new PolyOne Smartbatch Frost collection
polyone launches smartbatch
Frost collection for pet packaging
First introduced at Chinaplas
2019 in May, PolyOne's Smartbatch Frost Collection was developed to address steadily rising demand from packaging
brand owners across the beauty/personal care industry worldwide for greater product differentiation, shelf appeal and
environmental
responsibility.
The new formulations enable
bottle designs that mimic frosted and etched glass and can be
used in all bottles made from
PET and rPET. When added to
PET resins during the injection
stretch-blow moulding process,
the Smartbatch Frost Collection
provides a soft, cool, and icy
look with better slip-resistant
performance than typical PET
bottles. The collection offers a
one-step process to achieve
both the desired moulded-in
colour and frosted effect, eliminating the need for secondary
processes such as sprays or
painted-on effects, thereby
streamlining production, helping to reduce costs and increasing speed to market.
The Smartbatch Frost Collection is now available globally
(in liquid and solid form).

market. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Chen Hsong Europe
B.V. in The Netherlands, the
new Germany office, headed by
managing director Andreas
Bexte, will serve as an additional technical support base. Chen
Hsong is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of injection moulding machines, with
clamping forces ranging from
