K2019 - AUXILLARIES

tor for the recycling of waste from
thermoformed
packaging,
the
XT35-120 and its Evoluzione series
of "supergranulators", including the
9-tonne EV616. This giant machine
offers precision to the hundredth of
a millimetre and "Industry 4.0" controls for monitoring and process
management.
All CMG's medium- to high-capacity units feature an adaptive motor power function, which the company claims is unique. The granulators
can automatically determine the optimum power level depending on the
quantity, shape, weight, thickness,
polymer type and temperature of the
feed material.

Drying and feeding with
4.0 controls
Italian equipment manufacturer
Moretto will be exhibiting a host of
auxiliary products for injection, blow
moulding and extrusion. X Comb
comprises two series of all electric dehumidifiers: X Comb ON, a compact
unit installed directly on the mouth of
the processing machine and X Comb
SIDE, larger models of up to 24 kg/h
that are installed beside the machine.
Both can be specified with Moretto's

Moisture Meter device, for in-line
measurement of residual granule
moisture up to 15 ppm.
"Industry 4.0" features include
the Moisture Meter Manager, which
the company claims moves the drying
process from an "adaptive" logic to a
"responsive" logic. It measures the
initial moisture of the granule and
uses this data to perform the appropriate drying cycle. Also on display
will be the Mowis 3 supervision system, a modular software, developed
in-house, that allows for connectivity
between machines, processes, departments, plants and factories. The
Mowis 3 system connects up to 1,100
clients, is remotely contrallable and
communicates with business management, production and customer
data management systems through
the universal OPC UA protocol.
The company will also demonstrate systems for feeding and conveying small quantities of technical
materials. KruiseKontrol has been
recognised by the European Patent
Office as "the only automatic and intelligent system in the world capable
of defining the best transport conditions for each plastic material". The
system manages the speed of the material during the conveying stage,
controlling more than 15 parameters,
to eliminate peaks and the formation
of "angel hair".

Vibratory feeders for dry
bulk solids

KruiseKontrol an automatic
and intelligent transport
system for plastics

Swiss equipment and systems manufacturer Coperion K-Tron will introduce its K3 line of vibratory feeders
for dry bulk solids at the show. A new
shock absorber design, allows the
K3's vibratory drive to deliver a continuous, even product discharge with
minimal pulsations. The company
claims that this innovation will allow
for gentler handling, higher accuracy
and faster product changeover - resulting in reduced waste, shorter
downtime and improved sustainability.

OCTOBER 2019

Coperion's K3 vibratory feeder features a unique
pendular shock absorption system

Where conventional vibratory
feeders use rubber or spring shock
absorbers, the K3 line uses a flexible
pendulum technology, which provides shock absorption only in parallel
to the direction of motion, eliminating rotational movement.
The new drive system is augmented with the SmartConnex control system which measures acceleration,
displacement, load, current and temperature at rates of up to 25,000
times a second and adjusts the vibratory drive signal accordingly. Feed
rates for the K3 feeders range from 1
dm3/h up to 8,500 dm3/h.

In 1979, Evonik launched the
thermoplastic elastomer polyether block amide.
Whether in sports equipment, hydraulic pressure
lines in trucks, medical devices or 3D printed hightech parts, Evonik's polyamide 12 elastomers kept
finding their way into new demanding applications
over the past four decades. www.vestamid.com
