K2019 - RECYCLING

the accelerating industry trend in
many parts of the world toward
higher throughputs on the one
hand and even higher qualities on the other - a trend
triggered by the rising global
demand for premium quality recycled materials for sophisticated applications.
As a new feature, the
ERF 1000's four filter drums
can be individually replaced
without disrupting production. The filter can thus run
continuously and fully automatically, often over a period of several months at a time, with advantages such as ultra-low melt losses
and good mixing and homogenising
of the melts.
Seamless recycling management
is the theme at Stand B59 in Hall 9,
where German machinery producer
VECOPLAN AG will be exhibiting
machines and systems that shred,
convey and process primary and secondary raw materials, including a
highly efficient shredder equipped
with a flexible drive concept. This latest addition to the company's VIZ series (Vecoplan Infinity Shredders) has
been designed in such a way that,
depending on the requirements, it

can be equipped with either Vecoplan's high-torque, quick-start HiTorc
drive from the proven single-shaft
VAZ shredder or with the ESC frequency-controlled, belt-type direct
drive. Both systems are patented and
are highly energy efficient.
In connection with its activities in
the chemical recycling space, Vecoplan will also be part of the VDMA
Circular Economy Forum in Düsseldorf. "Plastic-to-fuel" systems con-

into diesel or petroleum fuel, for example. Vecoplan provides the
high-performance shredding technology required by these
systems in order to process the input material
appropriately.
RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES (Hall 5,
A28), has developed and
patented a plastics recycling
machine, the RT7000 that
converts plastic waste back
into an oil called Plaxx from
which new plastics can be made.
The machine heats up the plastic in
the absence of oxygen to break the
waste plastic down into Plaxx. This
process allows the RT7000 to recycle plastics currently considered unrecyclable such as plastic film, laminated food pouches and crisp
packets and even black plastics.
These unrecyclable plastics are currently exported, incinerated or buried. The RT7000 machines are relatively small scale, allowing them to
be located within existing waste
management facilities, reducing
the financial and environmental
costs of transporting residual plastic waste.
