head and one three-layer head) belong to the optimised New Generation range, featuring low material
consumption and narrow tolerances.
In the three-layer head, the middle
layer of the pipe continues to be
guided by a mandrel holder geometry, while the geometry of the outer
layer has been completely revised. Yet
another benefit of the new geometry
is its excellent flushing behaviour - a
key feature in particular for manufacturing work involving classic PVC
pipes with a foamed middle layer,
highly filled compact pipes, or pipes
with a regrind middle layer.
The company's intuitive BCtouch
UX control system can be added to
any of its machinery solutions, complete with the new Dash button,
which puts customers in direct con-
Plug-and-play Alpha plus extruder from BattenfeldCincinnati
tact with the service team, transmitting all the basic information required
directly. Battenfeld-Cincinnati is currently running a pilot project to test
the possibility of storing customer
data securely in a cloud-based system
in order to further boost the speed
and accuracy of the support provided.
AMUT GROUP (Hall 16, A05) is
providing live demonstrations of the
new ACS 2000 cast line for stretch
film production, for the first time
equipped with the patented Q-Catcher, which permits previously saved
process parameters to be repeated
for the production of film that, from
one run to the next, has exactly the
same mechanical properties. The line
on display will feature a seven-layer
five-extruder configuration with a
useful width of 2,000 mm and output
of 1,300 kg/h. Film thicknesses range
from 6 to 25 micron, at a production
speed of 850 m/min. The upgraded
technology includes the T-Die Essentia
(Amut branded) with die splitter,
movable vacuum box for cleaning
without dismantling, jumbo type chill
roll unit 1500+450 mm diameter, AD
Scan X-Rays thickness control system,
the Prowind 4.0 super-fast winder for
hand, machine and jumbo rolls without any hydraulic components.
GAP (Hall 17, A76), an Italian
manufacturer of extrusion lines specialised in simultaneous multi bubble
orientation systems is presenting its
latest innovation for transparent
high-barrier oriented recyclable materials. The simultaneous bubble orientation system is available in sizes up to
4,000 mm and 1,000 Kg/h and offers
a solution for converting high barrier
oriented recycled laminated foil into
homogenous oriented mono barrier
multifunction materials.
GAP will also show a new annular
microlayer die said to reduce thickness, improve film characteristics and
maximise the performance of mono
material. The Mira-Layers can be used
as an annular die in processes including double bubble technology, blown
films, water quench and special tubing lines.
India-based RAJOO (Hall 16,
stand 22) is offering a live demonstration of a 7-layer blown film line
and a twin screw sheet extrusion line
for PET. The versatile 7-layer machine
with a capacity of 450 kg/hr can produce barrier film and work as a POD
line for both symmetrical and symmetrical
structures.
The
fully
equipped line includes world-class
automation - multicomponent batch
blending, gsm control, non-contact
capacitive sensor for barrier and POD
films, automatic profile control and
integrated touch screen-based supervisory control. The Lamina rPET
sheet line is suitable for processing
PET bottle flakes to produce sheet
for various applications including
thermoforming.
BRÜCKNER GROUP (Hall 3, C90
- E90) is revealing new advances in
the area of digitalisation under the
banner 'Leading Digital'. At Brückner
Maschinenbau, the machine manufacturer will introduce 'Easy Operation', an integrated solution which
builds on the strategies related to Industry 4.0. The focus of this new
package includes a new form of intelligent line operation which, with the
support of several assistant systems,
will allow an overall process view and
analysis. The new digital services division, Brückner Services, will introduce
a single interface for all machine service processes, including spare part
36
procurement, remote machine maintenance and online documentation.
This will be delivered via a secure network, with access and data sharing
levels set by the machine owner.
Kiefel, the division of Brückner focused on the design and manufacture
of machines used to produce plastic
film materials, will launch Smart Service, Smart Production and Smart
Machine. These three core modules
will act as support mechanisms for
complex production systems and processes, driving greater insight into the
Smart Factory. The fourth division at
Brückner, PackSys Global, will introduce such support choices as remote
support, a series of e-learning modules, and a related e-portal. These are
intended to support preventative machine maintenance, improving overall
uptime, while also advising on energy
usage and production efficiencies.
The unit will be managed via new,
dedicated app. In addition to these
specific divisional packages, Brückner
Group will launch new sustainability
initiatives under the 'Yes, We Care'
programme. As part of this, the machine manufacturer will be working
on ways to ensure that films and
packaging are produced with the
least possible resources and with the
highest possible recycling capability.
For example, Brückner Maschinenbau will launch a new BOPE concept
mono-material which while offering
superior mechanical and optical properties will be recyclable and sortable.
Brückner Servtec will offer special
customer audits which will advise on
machine updates to achieve the latest
environmental standards. Kiefel will
introduce new line and tool technologies to support recycling of mono-materials into recyclable products,
including bowls, cups and lids. At
PackSys Global, new mono-material
tubes will be introduced to further
boost recyclability. These will include
a range of tubing products which will
eliminate aluminium from the laminate.
In addition, Kiefel is presenting its
new generation steel rule pressure
forming machine Speedformer KMD
78.2. Featuring "intuitive" user guidance for easy operation, the machine
is said to deliver higher productivity,
process control and availability compared to its predecessors.
COPERION (Hall 14, B19) is presenting two significantly re-designed
ZSK Mc18 extruders with 45 and 70
mm screw diameter and a specific
torque of 18 Nm/cm3. Optimised mechanical and electrical features provide better operating comfort and
even greater efficiency. Instead of
three-part covers, these extruders are
now equipped with single-part heat
insulation covers which are very easy
