Nu-Vu Conair expands
capacity, product range
By Satnam Singh
Plastics News Correspondent
Indian auxiliary equipment
maker Nu-Vu Conair Pvt. Ltd.
is expanding as it adjusts to
new corporate ownership. The
Ahmedabad-based company has
acquired an additional 75,000
square feet of land for the expansion,
next to its current facility.
" After this investment, our total
land parcel has reached to
more than 200,000 square feet, "
said Director Satish Godase.
In December, Nu-Vu gained a
new corporate parent when Italy's
Piovan SpA acquired the
U.S. auxiliary equipment maker
IPEG Group Inc., which includes
Cranberry Township, Pa.-based
Conair among its brands. IPEG
had owned 50 percent of the Indian
company. The deal transfers
the ownership of the four IPEG
brands - Conair, Thermal Care,
Pelletron and Republic Machine
- to Piovan in Venice.
Godase said Nu-Vu anticipates
more opportunities as part of the
change.
" We operate the same way as
we used to before, " he said. " We

food and powder where Piovan
has a strong foothold, and leveraging
each other's strengths to
introduce new products, target
new sectors and provide better
support to customers. "
Its expansion in India is needed
to address year-on-year growth
of around 20 percent, with a demand
surge coming from the Middle
East, Africa and some Asian
countries, including Nepal and
Bangladesh, he said.
" We will be moving some of the
product assembly to the expanded
site, " Godase said. " That will
free up more space in the current
facility, which is needed for some
of the existing products. "
The expansion will be completed
by December 2023 and
will boost its production capacity
by 50 percent.

look forward to added benefi ts
that a deal like this brings, such
as access to new technology, inroads
into other sectors such as
a slew of new machines in the
domestic market in the last
few years. Godase said the new
products have come from both a
local research and development
team and technology transfer
from Conair.
" The heating-cooling unit introduced
recently has been developed
by our R&D team in India
and the pressure conveying system
is a technology transfer from
the USA, " Godase said.
Nu-Vu Conair has introduced
adiabatic cooling towers for applications
where chillers are not
required, as well as what it said
are environmentally friendly and
energy-effi cient chillers, modular
linked belt conveyor and high-capacity
crystallizers for processing
regrind fl akes.
The company said chillers
and adiabatic cooling towers
are more energy effi cient and
will help processors cut costs.
It said modular conveyors are a
low-maintenance option that can
work in demanding conditions
and temperatures.
It's also developed both a
heating-cooling unit that is a
combination of a chiller and a
temperature-control unit, and a
pressure conveying system for
high-throughput applications.
" Recycling is going to be big
in coming years, " Godase said.
" We have come up with a high-capacity
crystallizer for customers
who process high quantities of
regrind fl akes. "
