performance and e-mobility.

have varying levels of recycled
content and offer lower
environmental impact vs. virgin
material. The fi rm has been involved
in nylon waste recovery
since 1988, including fi bers
made by its fi ber division.
Bio-based nylon grades made
by Radici can be used in multilayer
fuel lines and other fuel system
applications, Spini said. New materials
also are being used in water
management.

percent, mainly by installing
additional extrusion lines or by
replacing older ones with new,
higher-capacity lines.
The firm also is designing and
building a materials plant in Suzhou,
China, that will have photovoltaic
panels and other environmentally
friendly features,
he added.
Earlier this year, Radici acquired
the engineering plastics
business of Ester Industries Ltd.
of India. The Ester unit makes
compounds based on nylon, polycarbonate
and other resins. It operates
three compounding lines
with annual capacity of almost 60
million pounds in Khatima. These
operations will move to a new location
in Halol next year.
Ester also operates almost 150
million pounds of annual capacity
for PET resin and 125 million
pounds of annual capacity for
polyester packaging fi lms.
Radici employs 3,000 worldwide
and makes a range of specialty
plastics and chemicals. The
fi rm posted sales of just over €1.5
billion in 2021.
