Fakuma provides the ideal backdrop to talk to
the major machine builders in Europe and to
gain some perspective.
One of the companies that has made headlines
over the past year is Parsdorf, Germany-based
KraussMaffei. Sustainable Plastics sat
down with Jörg Stech, head of IMM EMEA/Global
IMM Technology at KraussMaffei, for an update
on the company's strategy for the future.

While the European plastics
industry continues to
face reduced demand in
2024, most companies at
the show in Friedrichshafen,
Germany, are stressing the
importance of planning for
what comes next.

improve the effi ciency of its
existing equipment and make
it easier to add robots to existing
equipment.
" Automation on injection
molding machines does not
have to be complicated, " the
French company said.

During an Oct. 16 news conference at Fakuma,
Sattel, together with Martin Pütz, senior
director technology, further elaborated on the
news released by the company on Oct. 14, announcing
plans to reduce staff and make structural
changes in production at its German sites.
" Overcoming this crisis is a major challenge, "

himself, CEO Christian Maget and Chief Operating
Offi cer Takaaki Kaneko, took over from
